When I am setting up the Handheld Contact software, I get stuck on the ACT! Administrator and Password screen.

If you are working on setting up Handheld Contact, the first screen you will encounter will be asking for the ACT! Administrator. This is an ACT! user on the database that will have Admin rights.  We do not keep track of this information.  You will need to obtain it from ACT!.

 

  1. Open ACT!.
  2. Click on Help and choose About ACT!.
  3. Click on the 'Database Information' button.
  4. In the window that appears, it will show the ACT! PAD file.  This is will be the database path that you need to access.
  5. The 'User Name' section is the Username for the ACT! user that is logged in.
  6. You can see the 'Security Role' for this ACT! user and if it is Administrator you have the correct account.

 

If when you launch ACT! and are not required to log into the database, then you do not have a password.  Keep this section blank when entering the data within Handheld Contact.
