Handheld Contact supports a limited number of versions of Act!, mobile operating systems, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. This enables us to focus on product quality, developing new features, and making Handheld Contact available on the newest, popular mobile devices. Additionally, maintaining compatibility with older versions of Act! and operating systems requires a disproportionate amount of resources that would ultimately make Handheld Contact more costly.

Compatible software and platforms

Act! Software

The Handheld Contact computer application is compatible with the latest 3 versions of Act!:

Act! v19 (Current)
Act! v18
Act! v17

Legacy versions of the Handheld Contact computer application for versions of Act! not listed above are still available but limitations apply — See 'Obsolete software limitations' below for details.

Apple iOS mobile operating system

The Handheld Contact mobile app for iOS is compatible with the latest 3 versions of Apple iOS:

Apple iOS 10 (Current)
Apple iOS 9
Apple iOS 8

Google Android mobile operating system

The Handheld Contact mobile app for Android is compatible with the latest 3 versions of Google Android:

Google Android Nougat 7.0 (Current)
Google Android Marshmallow 6.0
Google Android Lollipop 5.0

BlackBerry 10 (BB10) mobile operating system

The Handheld Contact mobile app for BlackBerry 10 is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.

Important: BlackBerry allows software developers to distribute Android apps as BlackBerry 10 apps and we utilize this technique to make Handheld Contact available to BlackBerry 10 users. Handheld Contact compatibility with BlackBerry 10 is dependent on BlackBerry offering this feature to software developers.

Microsoft Windows computer operating system

Handheld Contact's computer operating system requirements are consistent with the requirements established by Act! for versions Act! v19, Act! v18, and Act! v17 with the following exception:

Handheld Contact is not compatible with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.

Obsolete software limitations

Using an unsupported version of Act!, Apple iOS, Google Android, or Microsoft Windows with Handheld Contact is permitted with these limitations:

Handheld Contact service is provided "as is" without any form of guarantee for service access, service quality, or feature availability.
Phone and e-mail technical support is not available.
Legacy versions of the Handheld Contact computer application will continue to be available for download but will exclude new features and improvements.
