With the latest releases of Handheld Contact, the software has been fitted with an 'Import' option. This Import will allow users to add calendar activities from the native Calendar application into Handheld Contact and then to sync back to Act!. Below are the directions needed for each specific operating system:

iOS (iPhone and iPad) devices:

1. Open Handheld Contact on the device.
2. From the Home view, tap on 'Import/Export calendar'.
3. The next screen will prompt 3 different choices:
   1. Export Calendar - Moving the activities from Handheld Contact into the iOS Calendar application.
   2. Import Calendar - Moving activities from the iOS Calendar application into Handheld Contact.
   3. Delete Calendar - Delete all activities from Calendar.
4. Select 'Import Calendar' option.
5. You will be prompted with a list of the different Calendars found in the iOS Calendar app.
6. Choose which Calendar you want to Import and activity from.
7. Note: The lightning bolt icon in the upper right corner, allows you to change the view.  Daily View vs Weekly View.
8. The specific Calendar selected will be displayed at the top of the screen with the activities below.  They will be sorted daily or weekly.
9. Press the forward or backward arrows (< or >) to move the display to view different activities.
10. Tap on the activities required to Import. 
11. If these activities already exist, a pop up message may appear reading "Import Alert - Possible Duplicate found in HHC.  Still want to add?".  Press Yes or Cancel.
12. After all selections are made, tap on the 'Import' link in the upper right corner.  This will only be available after a selection is made.
13. A message will read "Imported Events - x Activities".  Where 'x' are the number of tasks that were imported.  Press OK.
14. After the Import is completed, you will want to synchronize on the device to send the new events back towards the Act! database.  Open 'Sync Status' and choose 'Sync Now'.

Note: Importing activities will be scheduled with the 'My Record' contact if no matching contacts are found in Handheld Contact.

Android devices:

1. Open Handheld Contact on the device.
2. From the Home view, tap on 'Import/Export calendar'.
3. Tap on the 'IMPORT' option from the top banner.
4. The 'Import selection' screen will appear.  
5. Choose a section from the 'Import Calendar events from' drop down.  The options are 'Today', 'This week' and 'Next week'.
6. Select which calendars to import from.  There will be a listing of the different Android Calendars.  Check as many as you wish.
7. When finished, press 'VIEW EVENTS' in the top right corner of the banner.
8. The activities from the previous screen selections will be displayed.  If you cannot find the activities needed, go back one screen to change the filters.
9. Select the activities needed and press 'IMPORT' button in the upper right corner.
10. A message will appear reading "Selected Calendar events will be imported to Handheld Contact.  Continue?".  Press YES to proceed.
11. After the Import is completed, you will want to synchronize on the device to send the new events back towards the Act! database.  Open 'Sync Status' and choose 'Sync Now'.

Note: Importing activities will be scheduled with the 'My Record' contact if no matching contacts are found in Handheld Contact.
