If you are trying to sync on the PC/server and receive the following error:

"Syncing failed. Error: The user: {ACT! Username} has too much configuration data to send to the handheld. Please read the knowledge base for suggestions on how to trim down before resending data for this user."

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Click on the 'Field Mapping Info' link on the left.
  2. Choose Change.
  3. Expand the Window that opens.
  4. Look at the bottom of the screen and you will see that the total 'Config Data Usage %'.
  5. Along the right hand side of the screen will be the 'Sync Drop-Down' options.  You will need to uncheck some of these boxes to reduce the total Config data.  I suggest fields such as Countries, States or Cities that have large values to be unselected.
  6. Once the total usage is down, press OK to save the changes.  The default is '5%'.
  7. After the changes have been saved, attempt to sync again.
