The 'Sync Now' button is greyed out. I cannot sync. What can I do?

There are times that Handheld Contact does not complete the sync process and it will get stuck in a sync loop.  Our application thinks that it is working but in fact it is not.  You may need to stop the HHC Service to get it working again.

 

Please follow these steps:

  1. Open Handheld Contact on the PC/server.
  2. The 'Sync Now' button should still be greyed out.
  3. Click on Maintenance and choose 'Restart Service'.
  4. Choose Yes/OK to all messages about aborting the sync and restarting the service.
  5. Close Handheld Contact.
  6. Re-open the software again.
  7. The 'Sync Now' should now be active.  Click on it and the application should connect and update from its previous status.
  8. When the PC/server is finished syncing, go to the device and choose Sync Now to obtain all updates.
